With more than decade of sell-side and corporate experience, Esme Pau returned to Macquarie in April 2022 as Head of HK/China Internet and Digital Assets Research. She began her career as an equities research analyst and was a sector lead at both Barclays and Jefferies. She then transitioned to a corporate advisory role in which she advised senior executives, and multinational and Global Fortune 500 companies on digital transformation and global competitive intelligence at the intersection of retail and technology. Most recently, she led a technology-focused equity research offering at a Chinese broker. Esme has unique perspectives across industries, spanning early stage to pre-IPO and public equities and has been recognised for her insights into disruptive technology trends. She ranked Top 3 in the 2021 Asiamoney Brokers Poll for Best Regional Analyst for Software & Internet Services. Esme holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the London School of Economics, an MSc in International Business (Finance) from Maastricht University and is a CFA charterholder.
