Mr. Alex Au is the Co-Founder of Hong Kong Digital Asset Society and Chief Investment Officer of Alphalex Capital, a licensed asset management firm running hedge fund strategies. He has over 25 years of experience in finance and portfolio management with hedge funds and international investment banks. His expertise includes long/short equity trading, fixed income investment and digital assets. In 2021, Mr. Au founded Hong Kong Digital Asset Society to provide public education and opportunities to the youth in blockchain technology and digital assets. He is a frequent speaker in universities, seminars and conferences regarding digital assets. He also writes regularly at newspapers with topics ranging from government policies, mining, NFTs, crimes and DeFi. In March 2023, Mr. Au was appointed by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong to join the FinTech Advisory Group to advise on web3 related matters. Mr. Au is also the Professor of Practice in the Department of Finance and Insurance at Lingnan University. He holds the professional titles of Chartered Financial Analyst and US Certified Public Accountant.
